FACCE JPI Knowledge Hub „Modelling European Agriculture with Climate Change for Food Security” (MACSUR)

Abstract

FACCE MACSUR attempts to develop a European capability in the development, use and interpretation of models to perform risk assessments of the impacts of climate change on European agriculture and related implications for food security. MACSUR represents the most important research areas to address this challenge including crops, livestock and economics. The work is organized in three themes CropM, LiveM and TradeM. To foster integration of models across themes specific case and pilot studies are foreseen.

The Crop Science Group at INRES, University of Bonn, coordinates the CropM theme and two work packages in this theme. Activities in CropM refer to the evaluation and further development of scaling methods in crop modeling, to model intercomparison and improvement, and uncertainty and scenario analysis. The Crop Science Group is also partner of the MACSUR coordination team.
