Research profile

In the research project “Spectral Response of Traits”, funded by Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG), I am applying hyperspectral remote sensing techniques to detect the plant functional trait composition of grassland. In the Rengen Grassland Experiment, the long-term application of fertilizers (since 1941) has led to a varying response of plant traits. This provides an excellent controlled environment to investigate the relations between the plant communities’ spectral signatures and their functional traits.
